Every Forevermark diamond starts it’s journey as a natural mineral sourced from a handful of carefully selected mines in countries such as South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Canada. These mines are meticulously chosen for their rigorous business, social and environmental standards. The De Beers Group of Companies makes lasting contributions to the mining communities through educational, medical and social initiatives, and through actions taken to redress the environmental impact of mining.

Explore Responsible Sourcing

Drawing on vast experience, diamond sorters masterfully assess the distinct characteristics of each rough diamond to ascertain those of potential Forevermark quality. Sorting takes great skill and years of training. Each diamond is entirely unique, so each time a diamond is assessed, a new combination of characteristics must be evaluated.

Forevermark demands only the very highest in cut criteria. Master craftsmen must devote consummate artistry and precise expertise to producing a diamond of Forevermark caliber. Forevermark Diamantaires unleash the brilliance, fire and scintillation of every diamond, creating a unique masterpiece in every one. As each and every facet is carefully selected, even one mistake could reduce the diamond’s light and beauty. Once the diamond has been polished precisely, it is evaluated against a set of stringent Forevermark standards to determine if it can be submitted for review by Forevermark.

After an eligible diamond is cut and polished it is sent to The Forevermark Diamond Institute, with locations in Antwerp, Belgium, Maidenhead, UK and Surat, India. A diamond will go through, at minimum, a seventeen-step process, checking for any flaws or imperfections that will impact its beauty. The end result is that Forevermark diamonds are the world’s most carefully selected diamonds. For diamonds of ½ carat or more, expert gemologists at the Forevermark Diamond Institute produce a Forevermark Grading Report. The Report features the unique identification number inscribed on the diamond, a blueprint covering the Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat of each diamond.

Using proprietary technology, each Forevermark diamond is inscribed with a unique number, proof that it is of exceptional quality and utmost integrity. Once a diamond’s provenance and quality have been confirmed, it is inscribed with a unique number that represents the promise: that the diamond is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. Only then does it become a Forevermark Diamond.

Discover the Inscription

Once a Forevermark diamond is inscribed, it is set in a piece of jewelry designed and manufactured by a select Forevermark Diamantaire, Manufacturer, or Jeweler, or it is sold as a loose diamond to be set in the design of your choice.
